Our Quality Furniture Vendors

How Our Denver Interior Design Firm Navigates Tariffs with Trusted American-Made Furniture Vendors

In this multi-part blog series, I’m sharing how Beautiful Habitat has strategically minimized the impact of tariffs on our custom interior design projects.

In our first article, Navigating Tariffs and Supply Chain Challenges: How Beautiful Habitat’s Vendor Strategy Delivers Quality and Value, we discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic exposed deep flaws in the global supply chain. Thankfully, our team had already been on a multi-year journey to identify top-quality vendors that align with our values—making us uniquely resilient to international trade disruptions. Our focus on American-made furniture and sustainable, bench-crafted products has set us apart among Denver interior designers.

Today, we’re excited to introduce the trusted furniture makers we use for upholstery and casegoods—brands that help us deliver beauty, value, and longevity to our clients’ homes.

As the founder of Beautiful Habitat, I created a set of guiding principles to define who we partner with in order to deliver the best results for our full-service interior design clients:

  • Quality & Reliability: We’ve long educated clients on the real costs of cheap furniture. The pieces we source are built to last, not to be replaced in a few years.
  • American-Made with Craftsmanship: “Made in the USA” is just the beginning. We go further by focusing on bench-made furniture, crafted by skilled artisans—not mass-assembled on a line.
  • Sustainability: While not flashy, our commitment to eco-conscious design is unwavering. We choose vendors who emphasize renewable materials and waste reduction.
  • Aligned Values: We believe in supporting companies that treat their workers well and give back to their communities.

In addition to these values, we only partner with manufacturers who offer wide design selections and full customization options. Every space we design is unique—your furniture should be too.

Visiting High Point to Curate Our Vendor List

Via Beautiful Habitat  – Modern Vacation Home in Rocky Mountains

To personally vet our potential partners, I traveled to High Point Market in North Carolina—America’s furniture capital. With thousands of manufacturers exhibiting at this twice-yearly event, I toured showrooms, tested furniture in person, and met directly with sales reps who would support our projects in Colorado. After an extensive search, we selected vendors who met all of our high standards.

Upholstery: Customized Comfort with Lasting Craftsmanship

Our primary upholstery vendor is a standout among U.S. furniture makers. Based in High Point, this company has generations of expertise. Their team of skilled craftsmen collectively holds over 2,400 years of experience—many are second- and third-generation artisans.

Via Beautiful Habitat – Modern Meets Ranch Home, Castle Pines, CO

Why We Chose This Upholstery Line:

  • Unmatched Quality: They specialize in eight-way hand-tied foundations, a hallmark of heirloom-level craftsmanship.
  • Custom Design Options: With hundreds of frames, fabrics, and finishes available, we’re able to create fully tailored pieces that reflect each client’s personality and lifestyle.
  • Sustainable Practices: Their cushions are made with soy-based polyurethane foam—a renewable alternative to traditional petroleum-based products—and hold CertiPUR certifications.
  • Eco-Conscious Manufacturing: The company actively reduces waste and repurposes production byproducts, making it a great partner for our eco-aware clients.

Via Beautiful Habitat – Denver Life Interior Design Showhouse 2024

This upholstery line allowed us to design custom headboards for the 2024 Denver Life Showhouse—one of our most bespoke projects to date.

Casegoods: Solid Wood Furniture with Heart and Integrity

“Casegoods” refers to hard furniture like dressers, cabinets, and sideboards. For these essential pieces, we selected a U.S. manufacturer that meets our standards for quality, customization, and sustainability.

This vendor offers:

  • A wide variety of frames, wood species, and finishes (both stain and paint), enabling hundreds of unique combinations for our clients.
  • A custom furniture program that ensures we can get the exact size and look required for any room or layout.

What sets this vendor apart:

  • They manage their own Appalachian hardwood forests, located just a day’s drive from their factory.
  • Their focus on solid wood (not MDF) means fewer harmful VOCs—supporting healthier indoor air quality.
  • Each piece is signed and dated by the artisan who builds it, a beautiful personal touch rarely seen today.

To quote this brand’s mission:

“We don’t import mass-produced furniture. We build solid-wood furniture to your exact specifications using sustainably harvested lumber from the Appalachian Forest. We live near the geo-center of this growing forest. Each piece of Gat Creek furniture is signed and dated by the artisan who builds it and then hand finished in a careful board-by-board process to bring out its natural beauty.”

At Beautiful Habitat Interior Design, we’re committed to creating custom interiors that are beautiful, functional, and deeply personal—without compromising on quality or values. Our partnerships with these exceptional American furniture manufacturers help us deliver that promise, even in challenging global conditions.
