During this consultation, the project scope and goals are defined. We walk through each room to determine your style and how you want to live.

We like to say the relationship between Beautiful Habitat and our clients is a marriage, not a date. We are going to be working together for a while and we’ll get to know quite a bit about each other.
In general, remodeling projects can take six months to two years to complete, while a decorating project will take closer to 4-6 months. The duration of the project is not set in stone and hinges on many factors. If you make decisions quickly, if you are available and responsive, the project will be completed sooner. If you need a little bit more time to mull things over or have limited availability, it could increase the time necessary to complete the project.
It is best to contact us as early as possible to discuss your potential project.
Interior design focuses on both the function and the aesthetics of a home. A designer considers how a space flows, how it feels, and how it works long before choosing furniture or fabrics. A qualified interior designer will have a two or four year degree that includes training in space planning, construction fundamentals and kitchen and bathroom design.
Decorating focuses on the visual layer of a space after construction is complete. A decorator helps refine the look of a room by selecting furniture, textiles, and finishing details that bring the space together.

Yes, our design process includes building a full 3-D model of the rooms we are designing. This includes importing in the cabinets, tiles, furniture, fabrics and materials that are recommended for your home design. We’ve been using 3-D models for over fifteen years and this process allows our clients to be comfortable with the design and every selection before placing the orders.

Yes, we offer full-service interior design which means that our design team handles every detail including ordering, tracking, delivery scheduling and installation oversight to keep everything aligned with the project timeline. This is a done-for-you service.

Before we begin work, we ask a lot of questions about your investment amount—not only the specific dollar amount you have to invest, but also your comfort levels within that amount. For example, if you have $75,000 to invest, are you comfortable with spending $25,000 on one piece? Would it make you nervous to have a piece that expensive?
We discuss your wish list and investment amount. If those are out of alignment, and they sometimes are, we discuss what CAN be achieved within your desired budget. We discuss and agree on the priorities of the design to ensure the budget is allocated toward the priorities.

A thoughtfully designed home renovation takes time. At Beautiful Habitat, we look at the entire journey—from the initial design process through construction—so the timeline reflects the level of planning and attention your home deserves.
For most renovation projects, you can expect approximately 6–12 months from the beginning of design through completion. Larger or more complex projects may take longer, particularly when they involve structural changes, additions, or extensive work throughout the home.
New construction typically takes 2 years or more from the start of design through completion.

When the design plans are well established, we bring in the builders to discuss and confirm the feasibility of the designs. Then the builder or general contractor provides the bids and timelines. As we move into the construction phase, the Beautiful Habitat team acts as your liaison with the GC. We make sure they have all the materials when they need them and that the designs are being built as intended.
Yes. One major mistake that homeowners make is that they try to get bids before having a clear design plan. That will always result in wildly different prices. Once we have a design plan, we help you to review and navigate contractor bids.

We follow the same process for every project, whether it’s a single room or an entire home. Here’s how it works:

Project Initiation
This is where we get to know you and your home. We meet, walk the space, and talk through what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’re hoping for. The goal is to clearly define the scope of your project and set a strong design direction that reflects what matters most to you.
2.
Research, Design, & Presentation
Once we understand you and your space, the creative work begins. We develop the overall vision, collaborate with vendors and trades, and thoughtfully curate every element of the design. It all comes together during your design presentation, where you’ll see drawings, review materials, and walk through your home in 3D.
3.
Procurement
We’ll take it from here! Orders are placed, deliveries are tracked, furnishings are received and stored, and installations are scheduled. You don’t need to manage a thing or keep tabs on timelines. We’ve got it covered.
4.
Construction Support
(When Applicable)
If your project includes construction, we’ll work alongside trades professionals to keep an eye on progress and act as your liaison. This turnkey approach is perfect for clients who might not live near their job site and need a partner they can count on.
5.
Execution & Project Completion
Furniture and decor are received, inspected, and prepped. After installation, we handle any final adjustments and punch list items. The project officially wraps with a closure meeting, and hooray! You’ve now got a beautiful habitat all your own.
