2020 Designer Showhouse Details
Despite a global pandemic, the Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse is on! The house is ready, the magazine is in production right now, and the home tours are being booked. Most importantly – donations are being raised for Habitat of Humanity and Denver families.
The bad news: the in-person tours will be limited to follow all necessary social-distancing and sanitizing. If you are interested in a physical tour of this Denver home, I recommend that you book it very soon.
- General Public Tours: November 5-8 and 12-15 10am to 4pm in the Wash Park neighborhood of Denver
The GREAT news: this year Denver Life has created a video tour and 100% of the donations go to Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver. Tour the Showhouse from the safety of your home! For a $20 donation, you get a link to the 15 minute full home video tour.
- Donate here and receive your link to the 15 minute video.

While I cannot yet reveal the photos of the project, I can reveal that I designed the Kitchen of this beautiful home and our Interior Design Concept is Organic Modern! I can also reveal just a few small details with {mediocre} photos from my phone.
I can also reveal that the kitchen has a banquette. And I am crazy about banquettes! See my past articles about designing banquette seating.
After the tours, I will be able release full details on the kitchen design and full interior design for the Wash Park home. In the meantime, please visit the showhouse and help us raise money for a great cause and helping Denver families.
About the Denver Life Showhouse
The Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse project began in 2013, and has raised nearly $175,000 for its charitable partners. For the last six years and again in 2020, 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. Your generous donation empowers hardworking people and their families who provide vital services to the community—such as first responders, nurses, and teachers—to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable home-ownership. Research shows that housing stability positively impacts job retention, increases health and wellness, and fosters educational success among children. Your support extends far beyond the walls of a house. It will transform lives for generations and lift communities as a whole.
What I’m Most Excited About
Yes, it’s absolutely a fun project to design a room for this home. This home is very modern and I was able to add creativity to the kitchen design. However, I am equally excited to contribute to our Denver community. First, meeting other local interior designers that I did not know before working on the home together. I’m also collaborating with local furniture makers on stunning custom pieces for my room. And, most importantly, I’m excited to help raise money for Habitat and Denver area families.
COVID 19 has proven what I’ve long believed – the home is so important. Our homes are safety, security and sanctuary. In 2020 our homes became offices, schools, home gyms and more. To be able to raise money to help provide Denver families with a home and sanctuary is a true privilege. The families that are helped by Habitat for Humanity are those who have been our heroes in 2020: nurses, first responders and teachers. I am honored to help these Denver families achieve their dreams of home ownership.
